Sauteed String Beans

Sauteed string beans; a perfect meal that’s quick and easy to prepare…….

A holiday on a Saturday does not feel like a holiday at all. At least, that is my opinion. Saturday feels normal and the routine is always the same; get up, have breakfast, do chores, cook lunch etc. So, to make my Saturday extra special on occasions like this (Eid), I felt that our time spent as a family should be fulfilling and enjoyable. No one should feel like they had laboured too much. So the meal for the day was simple, attractive and delicious. Honestly the meal took on a different but healthy persona so to speak and I liked it.

These string beans together with fried fish was definitely a simple and delicious meal. It was prepared entirely in less than 30 minutes without any kind of fuss. And, it was eaten entirely without any kind of fuss as well. We did not miss the rice, and the meal was quite satisfying on its own. I call this meal a perfect paleo meal. I can see myself having more meals like this in the future.

As I have said, this recipe is quite simple and requires just a few ingredients. Have your ingredients prepared, i.e. make sure the onion is thinly sliced, the ends of the string beans are removed, and the parsley chopped. When cooking keep the ingredients close at hand. If you are frying fish you can do the same with the ingredients for the fish but more on the fish in an up coming post. I’m actually wondering if I should post it because it is a no brainer really. But it has a twist that everyone may like.

Remove the pot from the fire and leave covered.

This method ensures that the beans are not overcooked, maintains its beautiful green colour and draws in the flavour of the other ingredients.
