Quick Cheese Bread

This quick cheese bread will  surprise you.  Even though this cheese bread is a quick bread, the cakey feel and taste will definitely make you wonder if this is bread, is really a bread at all.

The Definition of a Quick Bread

Some people may insist that a bread must have yeast to be labeled a bread.  Quick breads are usually leavened with baking soda or baking powder.  I must say that quick breads like this one is baked in a loaf, and for that reason it is generally called a bread.  Also, they cannot really be a cake or a pastry because quick breads are not that delicate and sweet.  I enjoy serving my quick breads as a dessert or for dinner.  The only quick bread I can think of that is served as a side dish is cornbread.

No Kneading Necessary

Also, for those who hate putting their hands in the dough and having to knead for as much as 10 minutes would find this quick bread recipe just right.  You can even use a cake mixer to quickly blend the ingredients together.  It is a no-fuss recipe for the busy homemaker, and especially ideal for for the young who are now learning to make their own bread.  It will certainly be something they would be proud to boast about.  After all, anyone would willing boast of making this bread because it just taste so great.

An Easy and Quick Cheese Bread

This cheese bread takes little time to prepare.  A cake mixer is very handy.  Some people even blend the ingredients in a blender.  In no time you have the dough for the cheese bread.  Now, believe me, each time you make these you will be willing to use different cheese or a blend of different types of cheese.  Also, you can add minced garlic, sausage, olives, sweet pepper or herbs such as parsley or chadon beni. The last one reminds me of the chadon beni parmesan muffins we made a while back.  Finally, when you think you are brave enough to put your hands in a dough and knead, you can try making the cheese rolls.  Yes, more cheese.

I stumbled across your blog and I have to say this is by far the most comprehensive one I have come across re: local recipes. One can easily see what a wonderful passion you have for local cuisine, in both cooking and teaching.
I am excited to get into the supermarket then the kitchen armed with these, especially since it’s my husband who has the ‘sweet hand’ in our home… And I believe that by following your pictured step by step directions I just might be a contender for the coveted title 🙂
