An Enjoyable Fry Bake and Smoke Herring For Dinner

I always enjoy a fry bake and smoke herring for dinner. Today I will be short, since I don’t have a lot of time. But, in a sense I should have a little time for you all. I’m very busy at the moment so here’s fry bake and smoke herring, a wonderful and simple meal. Do enjoy.

FRY BAKE AND SMOKE HERRING

Smoked Herring:

½ pound Smoked Herring
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 small onion, chopped finely
¾ pound tomatoes, chopped
½ teaspoon chive, chopped
½ teaspoon thyme, chopped (Spanish or fine leaf)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small hot pepper, finely chopped (optional)

Fry Bake:

3½ cups flour
½ cup wheat flour
4-5 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1½ cups water or slightly more
1 tablespoon sugar
Oil for frying

Direction:

Smoke Herring:

Remove skin; wash and squeeze the excess water from the smoked herring and break into small pieces. Do this now, not later. Boil the smoked herring for about 10 minutes to remove some of the salt.

Sauté the onion, garlic and seasonings. Then add the tomatoes and cook until slightly brown.

Add the flaked smoke herring and hot pepper and allow it to cook for about 10 minutes. You may not need to add salt.

Serve cool

  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

Instructions

  • Boil the smoke herring for about 10 minutes to remove some of the salt.
  • Remove skin; wash and squeeze the excess water from the smoke herring and break into small pieces.
  • Saute the onion, garlic and seasonings. Then add the tomatoes and cook until slightly brown.
  • Add the flaked smoke herring and hot pepper and allow it to cook for about 10 minutes. Add more salt and water if desired.
  • Serve cool with fry bake etc.
