Beet Punch

I always buy beetroot when I go to the supermarket. Beetroot is one of our favourite vegetables. It is mostly placed in my salad, raw; it livens up the salad with its brilliant colour. It does the same to beet punch. Its brilliant colour and texture lends well to making a wonderfully super nutritious punch. Beetroot punch is for a lack of a better word, simply delicious.

Beetroot is very healthy to eat. I would boldly say that if you don't include this in your diet for the mere fact that you don't like it, you should rethink your philosophy on what healthy eating means. Beetroot is considered a super food beccause of its nutritious benefits. It has been proven to improve blood circulation to the heart and brain and lowers blood pressure.

It can therefore fight against heart disease and the progression of dementia.  It has also been known to increase stamina, fight inflammation, and has anti-cancerous properties.  For centuries, ancient civilisation knew of its benefits in treating fever, constipation, and skin problems.  It contains magnesium, iron, vitamin A, B6 and C, folic acid carbohydrates, protein, antioxidants and soluble fibre.

Beet Punch Recipe

This beet punch is very simple.  It can be quite an energizer, so make sure you drink it during the day, not at night time.  It is also perfect to take before you exercise.  No great amount of preparation is done for this recipe.  The beetroot is peeled and blended with the rest of ingredients.  It is not cooked at all.  Therefore, it retains all its nutritious qualities.  You can double the recipe if you need more servings.  This punch could be refrigerated before serving.  So here it is, the beet punch recipe. Enjoy!
