Banana milk the all natural rocket fuel……
After my eye opener of a health rejuvenation experience, I felt that some health truths and a new way of thinking about health should be explored and shared with the wider public of Trinidad and Tobago. My advice is this: Don't stay stagnated in your views about health, but rather expand and open your mind to other possibilities. It's out there waiting to be discovered. The older heads were on to something; we just got caught up with the world views and forgot about them.
It took me some to wrap my head around this new way of thinking but it got through to me eventually on a very personal level. I always thought I was healthy save for maybe a few pounds and was eating “right”. I removed a lot of un-natural “foods” from my diet and tried to eat healthy. But I was wrong because I still got sick often especially when there was a flu going around and other symptoms of life threatening disease abounded. So I was missing something.
A total change was necessary in order to really get my body to a state of true health and well being. And the way it represented itself was to eat as natural as possible so I can reset my system. Apart from the Super Tonic, Banana Milk was another recipe I learnt that was all natural and didn't use a drop of sugar.
Banana milk, a good vegan substitute for dairy milk, is a terrific energizer. It is perfect for breakfast or before any kind of rigorous exercise. In fact it is sometimes called “rocket fuel” because of the amount of calories it possesses.
A word of warning though: because of its high energy content, do not consume this drink at night time or else you won't be able to sleep….but then that could be a good thing if you don't intend on sleeping lol 🙂
Banana Milk Recipe
BANANA MILK
3 cups coconut water or cane juice
4 ripe bananas
8 pitted dates soaked in 1 cup of water (overnight)
Peel the bananas. Place them in a blender.
Add the rest of ingredients. Blend them together. Serve at once.
Note: Use the water the dates were soaked in as well
I like to have banana milk with my favourite cereal mix as well.
Looks great, i’ll surely have to try it. Coconut Water here in the US can be on the expensive side though it can be found plentiful in the grocery store in carton boxes.
Both Bananas and Dates are supper packed with Potassium or considered Potassium rich foods. Potassium is great for Cardio, Hearth/Blood Vessel health and help reducing Blood Pressure. So a supper packed Banana Milk drink goes a long way in doing wonders for ones daily health and energy needs.
